Currently Tall Tails is a quarter of the way to reaching its goal on Kickstarter.  We are happy with the support we've seen so far, but still have a long ways to go.  We want to say THANK YOU to the 191 individuals that have backed us so far, but hope that anyone reading this will continue to share our game and its mission for dog rescue with friends and family.

Tall Tails has been working incredibly hard in an effort to get our story out to the public.  This video goes out to all those that have and helped us so far, and to those that are interested in helping, please share our links and consider pledging with the help of our video tutorial blog post!  Thank you again!

ZUUL Labs Tattoo
We have EXACTLY three weeks left to go in our Tall Tails Kickstarter campaign and still need help from you, our followers!  We need you to pledge your support to Tall Tails, and get your puzzle playing and dog-loving friends to do the same.

To show you just how committed we are as a team to Tall Tails, and our company ZUUL Labs, we made a video of our Co-Founder Crash getting the ZUUL logo tattooed onto his arm by the one-and-only Opie Ortiz -- known for his art featured on the band Sublime's album covers.  If you are impressed with our team's dedication and hard work on Tall Tails then SHARE this blog and video with all your friends and direct them to our Kickstarter page!

What Dog Rescue Means to ZUUL Labs

Last week, our Founder/CEO, Marty Cox, and his wife, Louise Montgomery, sat down with members of our team to further explain what dog rescue means to them.  It was a chance for all of us at ZUUL Labs to be inspired by their message and further incorporate their passion into what we're doing as a team with Tall Tails and beyond.

Louise has dedicated the last 16 years volunteering full-time to saving dog’s lives by working with rescue groups to help pull adoptable animals out of the shelters, nurse them to health and find them safe, loving forever homes.  She has personally rescued thousands of dogs from being euthanized, and their household is constantly filled with a number of foster dogs.

Together, Marty and Louise explained the challenges facing pet shelters, the adoption process, and what rescue groups around the country are doing to help. They discussed the struggle to alter public misconceptions about “rescue dogs” and the need to raise awareness about the state of government run shelters around the country, many of which are overcrowded, underfunded, and poorly managed.  It was a very powerful and emotional conversation that opened our team's eyes to some of the harsh realities of pet over population, and further strengthened our mission to do more.

What We Hope to Accomplish with our Rescue Page

Members of the ZUUL Labs team learned a lot from listening to Marty and Louise and the stories they shared, and wanted to share some of them with the world. While our game subtly hints at the merits of dog rescue and responsible pet ownership, we want to also raise awareness about why we are doing what we do.

Now we have added a page to our website called, “Rescue” where we will share information about dog rescue, pet adoption, and “What Rescue Means to Us.”

Every week, this section will be updated with new pictures and real stories of dog rescue. If you have a story to tell about your experience with dog rescue, or a great before and after to share, we would love to hear it and feature it on our website!  We also ask that you share this link with your family, friends, and any other dog lovers you know to help raise awareness about adopting these loveable rescue animals that can be such a blessing for both you and your rescued pet, bringing an immense joy to your and your family!

How We Want to Help Rescue Groups

In addition, we will also be devoting a portion of our site to promoting pet rescue groups across the country.  Most of these groups are comprised of volunteers with little to no funding, relying solely on the support of people like you and us.

If you are involved in an animal rescue group or organization , please reach out to us, and let us know how we can help to promote and share your efforts.

The team here at ZUUL Labs is excited to share the first bit of press coverage we have received, leading up to our Kickstarter campaign. This week, the HB Independent featured a story about our company’s mission to aid in pet rescue and adoption through the release of our game, Tall Tails.   We are pleased to see our story being shared within the local community in an effort to help get the word out about our Kickstarter campaign, and our ultimate goal, to give to dog rescue.

Be sure to read the article, “Gamers hoping creation will aid pet adoptions”, and don't forget to pass it along to all your friends!

ZUUL Labs demos Tall Tails at Orange County Women in Tech Event
A few members (the females) of ZUUL Labs had the opportunity to demo and present our first mobile game, Tall Tails, at the Women in Tech Event in Orange County last night.  It was an evening of networking and demos from a variety of female entrepreneurs and tech startups in the area, with a crowd of over 180.

Our Co-Founder, Jane Reed, was excited to talk about the creation of ZUUL Labs and the progress of Tall Tails as our team prepares for its launch on Kickstarter.  We happily shared our upcoming Kickstarter video with passer-bys, along with a video walk through of our game to highlight the graphics, animation and gameplay.  It was a great opportunity for us to talk about our brain-breaking puzzles and the Tall Tails characters.  Plus, we got to share with many the inspiration behind our game, and the ultimate goal, which is to donate to dog rescue.

ZUUL Labs at Orange County Women in Tech Event
The event was hosted by 106 miles and Startup Events Orange County, and was held at the innovative Eureka Building in Irvine.  Local companies involved in the demos included A Hundred Tiny Hands, LynxFit, Airwolf 3D, FashionTEQ, Rivvid, and many more.  It was an entertaining event that included many great demos from the various female participants, and we’re happy to say that Tall Tails was well received by the audience!
